President Buhari’s recent nominee James Kolo is dead. Kolo, who was recently nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari as a commissioner of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) from Kwara state suffered sudden death.   The Kwara state government disclosed in a statement that Kolo died suddenly on Tuesday morning, May 19, after falling ill.  Before his death, the deceased had appeared before the Senate for screening after he was nominated by the president on April 28 as one of the commissioners of the Federal Character Commission.  The Kwara state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has commiserated with the Patigi community and the APC family over the sudden death of James Kolo.  He described the late commissioner-designate as a loyal member of the APC and a good man.   The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 had on Sunday said Buhari would on Monday (today) address the nation on the next steps to take in the fight against Coronavirus. The Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, who stated this during the task force press briefing in Abuja,  warned that the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), could restore the lockdown if the guidelines were not observed and there was a surge in coronavirus cases. The President had, on March 30,  imposed a two-week lockdown on the Federal Capital Territory, Lagos and Ogun states, but at the expiration of the first lockdown on April 13, he extended it by another  14 days. Two lives have been lost, with seven seriously injured as an eight-storey building under construction in Owerri collapsed on Thursday. The unfortunate incident happened around 6.30 pm at Yaradua Drive, near the Lords Chosen Church. Mr Evans Ugoh, Head of NEMA office in Imo, while confirming the incident to newsmen, said that two casualties had so far been recorded, while seven persons had been rescued.
