Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy Ghanaian Dancehall and reggae artiste, Stonebwoy, has been arrested for pulling a gun at his industry colleague, Shatta Wale at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) 2019. According to reports making the rounds, the gun-pulling happened after Stonebwoy was announced as the winner for the category of “Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year”; an award he is winning for the fifth time consecutively. The circulating news stated that while Stonebwoy was about to give his acceptance speech, Shatta Wale started making his way towards the stage to Stonebwoy. Naira Marley Is Still in Custody of #EFCC… News of Freedom is Fake News Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has reacted to the video going around of Naira Marley regaining freedom after the court postponed his hearing to 30th of May. In reacting, they accused some friends of the singer, Naira Marley for releasing the propaganda video in their “desperation” to launder his image, stating that it is fake new. According to EFCC in an interview with SaharaReporters, Naira Marley is still in their custody in Ikoyi Prison and that video of him entering a car Isn’t recent neither has he been released. The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, had, on Monday, ordered Naira Marley to be remanded in prison until May 30th when the hearing of his bail application will take place. If this propaganda being circulated by friends will affect his hearing is not stated.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arrested two fast-rising artistes, Afeez Fashola (aka Naira Marley) and Temidayo Omoniyi (aka Zlatan), on Friday, in connection with alleged cases of Internet fraud and money laundering. The EFCC acting Head, Media and Publicity, Tony Orilade, in a statement, said intelligence report had also linked them to cybercrime offences. Orilade added that the artistes were arrested along with three other suspects, Tiamiu Abdulrahman, Adewunmi Adeyanju and Musa Abubakar, following an early morning raid at 9, Gbangbola Street, Ikate, Lekki, Lagos. “At the point of arrest, the Commission found and recovered a number of items, including laptops from the suspects. They have so far volunteered useful information about their involvement in the alleged criminal activities, even as investigations continue,” the statement said.
